When is my start time?

Start times will be emailed to participants two days prior.

When can I pick-up my race packet?

Packet pick-up will take place the morning of the event. Registration/packet pick-up will open at 7am. Please do not arrive more than 1 hour prior to your start time. 

Are masks required during the event?

Masks are not required as this is a fully outdoor event/

Is there an age limitation?

There is no age restriction for Mt. Melas Adventure Run. We ask that any participant registered can run/walk 3 miles to successfully complete the course.

Is this run all on paved trails?

This run will be on all different types of terrain including, but not limited to, pavement, grass and sand! Depending on weather, there may be standing water in some areas. Please plan accordingly!

Is Mt. Melas Adventure Run chip timed?

The Mt. Melas Adventure Run is a personal challenge with the goal of overcoming obstacles and completing the course. This event is not chip timed.

How long is Mt. Melas Adventure Run?

The course is about a 5k in distance (3.1 miles) featuring 12 obstacles.

Are the obstacles mandatory?

The obstacles are not mandatory, feel free to bypass the ones you do not want to participate in. We recommend trying them all though!

Will there be a bag check?

A bag check will not be available, please keep any belongings on you or leave anything behind in the car.

Where should I park and is it free?

The main road into Melas Park will be closed during the event, but parking is available at BOSCH, 1800 W. Central Rd. Mt. Prospect, IL. 60056 and is free of charge!

Will there be food and water available?

Yes, there will be one water station available at roughly mile 1 and mile 2.5, as well as post-run snacks.

Will the run be cancelled during inclement weather?

The event is scheduled to run rain or shine. Depending on the severity of the weather, the course may be altered or cancelled.
