Sharks Swim Team

Join our developmental competitive swim team. This unique experience provides swimmers with personal instruction and training in stroke mechanics, starts and turns. The Mt. Prospect Sharks belong to the Northern Illinois Swim Conference where boys and girls compete within their own age group at swim meets held Wednesday evenings.

Important Dates:
July 22: NISC Divisional Championship Meet
July 23: End of season party

Age groups are based on the swimmer’s age as of June 15 and swimmers must practice with their assigned age group.

Mandatory Prerequisites (evaluated on the first day):

• Ages 5-8: Swim 50 yards freestyle continuously with rotary breathing & 50 yards backstroke, breaststroke or butterfly
• Ages 9-12: Swim 50 yards freestyle continuously with rotary breathing, 50 yards backstroke & 25 yards breaststroke or butterfly
• Ages 13-18: Swim 100 yards freestyle continuously with rotary breathing, 50 yards backstroke & 50 yards breaststroke or butterfly
